Abstract:

For the automotive industry and various electric drives the use of the DC motor in different operating modes is very important. Due to the very large constructive variety of the DC motors, a highly versatile power supply circuit was designed in this article. The best price-performance ratio has been pursued. The most efficient way to adjust the operating mode of the DC motor is, by far, the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control. Several configurations with different admissible intervals for different voltages and currents have been studied. For testing, two different shape and performance electric motors were used. One electric motor has a rotor winding in the magnetic field generated by a permanent magnet (voltage 60V and 1000 rpm) while the second DC motor has both coils winding (voltage 230V and 14000 rpm). The stand was built in accordance with the current regulations on safety in operation and with the restriction of hazardous substances compliance on technology.
