The Deconvolved Conventional Beamforming for Non-Uniform Line Arrays

The deconvolved beamforming technique is a new robust beamforming method that can acquire narrow beam width, low sidelobe effects and higher array gain simultaneously. The current effect in horizontal uniform line array applications has been demonstrated by simulation and experimental data. Compared with the uniform line array (ULA) with the same element number, the non-uniform line array (NLA) has higher array gain, larger array aperture, narrower main lobe width and can resolve more sources. This paper contributes to demonstrate the beam pattern of NLA is also shift-invariant array and applied the deconvolved beamforming technique to NLA. And the feasibility of the method is verified by the simulation and experimental data.
