The General Model and Overview of Persistent Current Switch for Closed HTS Coils

Persistent current switch (PCS) has become a common method to power the superconducting magnets because of its fast exciting speed and high-efficiency. This paper presents a general simulation mode, and the fundamental equations and exciting process of PCS exciting system are established. The simulation result shows great exciting effect. In addition, this paper reviews our three mainstream types of PCS: heat controlled PCS, current controlled PCS and magnetic field controlled PCS.
