Circuit Modeling and Performance Evaluation of Superconducting Wireless Power Transfer Systems

In the context of wireless power transfer (WPT) technology, low allowable current density and large resistivity of conventional copper conductors limit the increments of primary current and transfer efficiency. A new WPT scheme using high temperature superconducting (HTS) primary and secondary can be well expected to develop various high-power and high-efficiency WPT devices. This paper presents the circuit modeling and performance evaluation of superconducting wireless power transfer systems. The circuit simulation results lay some technical bases for developing practical HTS WPT devices.
