Large-Scale Electromagnetic Field Analysis on Conductor Eddy Current Loss in Bar-Wound Coil Type Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for Automotive Applications

This paper describes a study of large-scale electromagnetic field analysis on super-computer (K-computer in Japan) in order to analyze the conductor eddy current loss of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor using a bar-wound conductor in detail. In order to analyze the conductor eddy current loss due to the leakage magnetic flux at the typical driving point in detail, the same coil forming state as the actual prototype was modeled on the CAE and electromagnetic field analysis was performed. Furthermore, the preliminary study to reduce the conductor eddy current loss was accomplished.
