Abstract:

This paper presents an optimized slotted waveguide antenna (SWA) with high gain for X-band (8-12 GHz) applications. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is used to optimize the length of the slot and the offset from the center-axis of the waveguide, thereby, resulting in 9.556 dB higher gain and 10.685 dB of return loss better than the conventional design. The design is implemented and the results are verified in Ansys HFSS Simulator.
