Bandpass Filter Using a Combination of DGS's and Open Ended Slot

Threedumb-bell shaped DGS in combination with open ended slot DMS cell or spurlineis proposed here to design a bandpass filter. The passband insertion loss has been improved to 0.3 dB using DGS unit, which compensates the impedance mismatch due to spurline. The bandpass filter response has been improved by the use of such DGSin asymmetric manner, which increased the sharpness and stopband isolation level. Finally, a bandpass filter of 45% FBW and sharpness factor 57dB/GHzfor falling edge has been achieved.
