Security Requirements of IoT Applications in Smart Environment

The “Internet of Things” is providing a virtual view of real life things including living things and non-living things. IoT is guiding in varied areas of smart environment and applications to deal with the challenges faced by individuals and organizations in daily life. Whether it may be at home or at offices, our life is changing tremendously. This paper presents some application areas of IoT that are changing our life. Participation of numerous things in IoT, in near future, will be much higher than the participating person. Data is shared in this heterogeneous environment via. low distance communicating devices. This huge data over the network includes sensitive and private data also which requires proper attention and security enhancement mechanisms. This paper also presents the need of security mechanisms in IoT applications. Latest research work in the IoT scenario to identify security requirements of ongoing IoT applications is presented in this paper.
