Theoretical and experimental study of resonance Lamb wave scattering by an impact-induced damage in an isotropic multi-layered plate

Resonance interaction of elastic guided waves with a stack of planar three-dimensional delaminations in an isotropic laminate structure is investigated. Eigenfrequencies and eigenforms of the diffraction problem considered are analyzed relying on the analytically- and mesh-based computational models. An approach for experimental resonance frequency extraction from B-scan and point-wise measurements with scanning laser Doppler vibrometry is proposed and implemented. A good agreement between predicted and measured eigenfrequencies and corresponding localization patterns (eigenforms) is observed.
