Clutter Suppression for SAR -A TI Based on Statistical Analysis of the Interferometric Phase

Along-track interferometry (ATI) is widely used to indicate moving targets for multichannel synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems, but it easily suffers from noise. In this paper, statistical analysis of the interferometric phase is carried out. Clutter based on the statistic characteristics of the interferometric phase can be classified into two types: one is subject to uniform distribution and the other is subject to Gaussian distribution. A novel scheme is developed for clutter suppression through exploiting the statistical distribution of the interferometric phase. The proposed algorithm can work well with moving target, especially when dealing with heterogeneous environments. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed clutter suppression approach is verified by simulated airborne SAR data.
