Evaluation of 2,4,8 Layer 3D Mesh NoC with Virtual Channel for Capacity Enhancement

Channel Capacity or transmission rate is depends on the bandwidth of link establishing channel, number of transmitting antenna and the spectral efficiency of the modulation. In 3D NoC having homogenous link, utilization under uniform traffic is higher at the center of the NoC than its corners. As in case of MIMO, one can transmit data using many low-powered channels. In this paper, we proposed a system and modeled 2,4,8 layer 3D NoC Mesh topology for 18×18 nodes for varying packets size (0.1 and 16000Kbytes). This is evaluated over CBR and FTP applications for evaluation parameters like latency and throughput. The study is performed with and without virtual channels. It is demonstrated by a comparison of experimental results analysis that 3D NoC with multiple virtual channels having bandwidth (BW) of 5,10,20,30,40 mbps, one can enhance the performance of NoC. In conclusion it is proposed to have OOFDM for efficient MIMO implementation replacing the virtual channel proposed. The outcomes can be utilized as a rule for NoC architects to settle on fitting decisions keeping in mind the end goal to accomplish ideal execution for respective applications, of future wireless communications systems, to provide sensor data transmission at high-data-rate, quality of service (QoS),low cost, speed of wireless access.
