Evaluation of Turns Ratio of Stator and Rotor Windings for Half-Wave Rectified Variable Field Flux Motor

We proposed a half-wave rectified brushless self-excitation method that generates the field flux on the rotor field winding short-circuited by a diode. And the amplitude of the rotor field flux is controlled from a zero to its maximum by the stator excitation current. This paper discusses the influence of turns ratio of stator and rotor windings on the self-excitation method by analysis results.
