The Problem of Electromagnetic Torque Ripples in Synchronous Motor

The effect of the current phases shape of the stator winding on the electromagnetic torque of a synchronous motor with a modulated magnetic flux and a smooth harmonic rotor was studied, as a result of the study the ripples of the maximum electromagnetic torque were found, which amounted to 7.36

of the mean value of the torque. It has been proposed to introduce a modulating coefficient in the form of a harmonic series in the law of changing of the phases current of the stator winding, allowing to correct the ripples of the maximum electromagnetic torque to 0.28% of the mean value.
