Estimate of Turn-to-Turn Short Circuit Influence on an Induction Motor Operation Quality

The paper is devoted to evaluation of influence level of turn-to-turn short circuit in one of rotor phases on induction motor operation quality. The modification of the classic mathematical model for currents and torque calculating in conditions of rotor circuit asymmetry is presented, and the results of numerical simulation of this mode are shown. Basedontheresultsobtained, criteriaallowedtoconcludethatitisadvisable to continue motor operation are pointed out.
