The Unsteady Natural Convective Heat Transfer in a Vertical Flat Layer of Liquid After Sudden Heating of the Bottom

The results of numerical simulation of flow evolution and unsteady conjugate natural convective heat transfer in a high vertical cavity with massive walls of finite heat conductivity after sudden heating of the bottom of the region are presented. The outer surfaces of the vertical walls are thermally insulated. On the inner surfaces of the walls defined the condition of perfect thermal contact, i.e. the continuity of the fields of temperature and equal heat fluxes. After heat is supplied to the bottom of the cavity, an upward flow of hot liquid is formed, which oscillates between the walls, alternately touching and reflecting from them. To meet the upward flow as periodically and in time, and in space vortices of cold liquid fail. As a result, a heat wave starts to run in massive vertical walls.
