Oral History of Dov Frohman

Dov Frohman is an Israeli electrical engineer and businessman. In 1970, he invented the Electrically Programmable Read-Only Memory (EPROM), a key enabling technology for rapid development of microprocessor-based systems, from personal computers to industrial controls. Intel founder Gordon Moore called it “as important in the development of the microcomputer industry as the microprocessor itself.” Frohman was also responsible for establishing Intel's R&D and manufacturing presence in Israel, one of Intel's most productive and advanced design centers. Frohman is a nationally known figure in Israel.
