Transmission Characteristic of Meandered Bowtie Antenna at 2.4 GHz in Proximity to Human Body

This paper evaluates the off-body propagation characteristic of flexible meandered bowtie antenna at 2.4 GHz. Propagation measurements have been carried out in anechoic chamber. The effect of human body on S11, S21 and received power are analysed. The results show that the received signal degrades by more than 20 dBm when the signal propagation is blocked by the body while the S21 transmission is reduced for up to 25 dB.
