A Green Energy System for Smart abode

This paper gives a representation of a project based on two technologies, Home Automation and Renewable Solar Power system. Out of many combinations of these two technologies, Online IoT based home automation of appliances and AC load solar power system is most suitable for commercial and educational sectors or private areas, As Alternating current (AC) is supplied by the grid and most of the appliance used in commercial sector, residential sectors or even private homes, take Alternating current (AC) as an input. Alternating Current (AC) appliances are readily available and less expensive than Direct current (DC) Appliances. The basic setup of solar power system will consist of monocrystalline solar panels, a solar inverter with a transformer and a lead acid battery pack based on calculated load. For Automation, a number of options were available including Bluetooth based and Local Area Network (LAN) based systems which work locally. The Automation system will be implemented on the basis of IOT. This will be achieved by a simple server based packet service. The open source development board known as Arduino will act as a control device connected to an online server which provides the UI (User Interface) to perform switching and regulating operations. This provides remote access over the internet and its scope for future upgrades will be much larger as we live in the era of the internet.
