Rational Approximation for Realization of Fractional Operator-An Existing Methods

Rational approximation for realization of fractional operator has been an area of intensive research work since last few decades. The basic reason for this increasing interest among the researchers and scientist is primarily due to its interdisciplinary nature of this operator in various fields of science and engineering for accurate modeling of many natural and physical processes. Many researchers have proposed different methods of rational approximations of fractional operator and its analog and digital realization using active and passive electronic components has been discussed till date. The scope of this paper is mainly limited to the survey of different analog realization techniques of the fractional operator and their implementation using passive electronic components.
