Implementation of a Self-Sustainable Infrastructure with remote power management

In the era of technology and global warming when fossil fuels are getting exhausted, the world desperately needs a smart switch to renewable energy resources. This paper shows the implementation of combined home automation technology and solar renewable energy in an easy way. There are many combinations possible, but for small and remote areas where grid electricity is a major issue, offline home automation and DC load solar power system is the answer. This is the most inexpensive, less area consuming and pollution free method to generate your own electricity and make a class room, a small house or an office etc. tech smart. From many different types of solar panels polycrystalline panels are readily available in different power ratings with good output efficiency. Use of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) charge controller instead of pulse width modulating (PWM) charge controller can efficiently charge the battery pack with an efficiency of 96% approximately. While Automation is a process which eliminates most of the physical human workload. In this case, automation will be implemented to enable us to control the load without physically interacting with the switchboard. In this research, we opt for a local operating system, this makes it simple, eliminates the problems of server downtimes and is also cost efficient. This system will be implemented based on a server client architecture connected in a local network where the open source development board called Arduino, acts as a server and hosts a webpage embedded in its native code. In this project, we will use a mobile device or a computer to reach the Arduino. It this approach we will serve with a user interface in the form of a webpage to control the switches. The detailed project with the method of load calculation and all connections is shown in this paper. This might not change the world but it can make an individual's life interesting while taking a step towards clean energy.
