Intruder Detection and Run time Response (IDRR)

The computer system is considered as an important aspect of every individual's life. It holds all the important and confidential data of the user. The system should be secured with the login ID and password as it protects the system. There have been certain proposals for login method like a Keystroke method titled “IMPROVED AUTHENTICATION MECHANISM USING KEYSTROKE ANALYSIS” [1] but the drawback of that was that if the user is mentally disturbed then the rhythm of his typing speed might vary and can cause a failed login. Other one is based on password using graphical images titled “GRAPHICAL PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION: CLOUD SECURING SCHEME” [2]. In this the user has to log in using the images as an authentication medium, but the drawback of this is that it becomes difficult for the user to remember all the images if the user has more than one account. By keeping in mind all the above methods we came to a concept of collaborating GSM module with the login process. IDRR will provide security to the system by detecting an intruder who tries to break into the system in the absence of the owner of the system. The application will be triggered as soon as someone tries to login and the alert message will be sent to the owner that his computer is been compromised by a stranger. To implement this we will use GSM module which will notify the user whenever someone tries to access the owner's system. The owner can take some action to avoid the intruder from getting into the system and fetching the details. The final outcome of the system will help the owner to protect his system and the personal data of the owner by not allowing the intruder to access the system as the system can be shut down, all the ports can be blocked, etc.
