Usable Tourism Application: MyTouristPlanner (MTP)

Tourism is one of the main source income generators in Malaysia. In 2017, Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report shows that Malaysia ranks 25th out of 141 countries and fifth best country in Asia. Within Malaysia, Penang has become one of the top tourists visited among others. The Penang capital city Georgetown has widely known for its UNESCO World Heritage recognition since 2008. Despite having such overwhelming responds and recognition, there is still deficiency of technology in tourism industry. Being one of the enormous market growths in technology industry, smart phone has become one of the necessity items. People utilize this platform more in their daily life. Nowadays, there are a lot of applications existed in respective market store that could help the tourists whilst traveling. Nevertheless, in perspective Malaysia, there are only few have been identified. Such applications are MalaysiaTripAdvisor, Pg Tourism, Smart-l. All these applications basically focus on one specific area. Hence, the need to rely on the other applications is obligatory and important. Besides that, there is no planner element that could help the tourists managing their journey in this country. To overcome this, an application called MyTouristPlanner (MTP) is proposed that utilizes the tourist guide features into a single application which help to ease users' problem. The aspects of usability of such system has been significantly improved.
