Artificial Neural Network Based Hybrid MPPT for Photovoltaic Modules

In PV systems, the most widely used algorithm for tapping the solar energy efficiently is the maximum power point tracking method. There are two accepted methods of MPPT, which are incremental conductance method and perturb and observe method. But both these methods, when operated conventionally suffers from certain demerits, such as the complexity in operation and the resulting delay in response. This paper proposes a new technique of maximum power point tracking, incorporating the concepts of artificial neural network into conventional algorithm. This new algorithm is simple and has a faster response.
