A Spiral Design Photonic Crystal Fiber Based Surface Plasmon Resonance Biosensor with High Sensitivity

This paper exhibits a simulation work of spiral design photonic crystal fiber (PCF) biosensor that demonstrations high sensitivity. The recommended biosensor mechanisms with surface plasmon resonance (SPR) phenomenon. The sensor performance is investigated utilizing finite element method (FEM) based software with perfectly matched layer (PML) and MATLAB software environment. In this design, gold is treated as an active plasmonic material. With a view to mitigating the fabrication challenge, gold is coated outside the fiber structure compared to inside coating on gold.
