Equivalent Circuit Modeling of Pentagon Slot Shaped Antenna Arreys

This paper focus on design and analysis of a pentagon slot shaped linear and planar antenna array capable of generating dual and tri bands maintaining high performance over a wide spectrum of frequencies. This antenna incorporates a simple single layered pentagonal slot antenna which is realized to achieve different resonant bands. For feeding the antenna and array elements, an inset line feed network is used. Structures are simulated using IE3D tool box and further realized using equivalent circuit modeling in order to validate. Better impedance bandwidths and moderate gain values are obtained as outcomes from the analyzed configurations, compared to existing designs. Peak antenna gains for three cases are about 5dBi, 6dBi and 9 dBi have been obtained for different resonant bands, respectively. Performance comparison of linear array with the simulated and equivalent circuit is discussed.
