Comparison of Bit Error Rate Evaluation for SISO and MIMO System by CPM Modulation Technique Using Matlab

The wireless communication system has gone through various generations such as SISO, MIMO systems. High data transmission rates are necessary for the wireless communication. In this paper, by calculating Bit Error Rate various wireless communication systems such as SISO, MIMO are compared. Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) systems are integral part of current wireless network. These MIMO systems uses more than one antenna at Tx side and at Rx side, so systems transmission reliability is improved. These system increases channel capacity and provides diversity gain without additional transmit power. MIMO system enhances capacity and reliability of system. In this proposed system for signal transmission we used CPM modulation. Constant envelope and phase continuity can be obtained by using CPM modulation technique. The study of Bit Error Rate (BER) is done for both SISO system and MIMO system theoretically and empirically. For SISO system we obtained the BER for different modulation order by using PAM modulation technique. As the modulation order increases the BER performance also increases. For MIMO system we used CPM modulation technique. As we increases the number of Tx and Rx antennas BER performance increases.
