LTE Network Capacity Analysis

Network capacity analysis based on KPIs is essential for cellular network performance optimization. This chapter focuses on LTE network KPI analysis to evaluate and detect LTE performance. It then includes LTE users, LTE scheduling, LTE traffic downlink/uplink analysis, transmission time interval (TTI) utilizations, throughput analysis, physical resource block utilization analysis, modulation and codec scheme, channel quality indicator (CQI), “MIMO” analysis, data connection performance, circuit‐switched fallback (CSFB) performance, and packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) performance. The KPI analyses for the uplink and downlink focus on throughput, scheduling, and resource utilization; the performance analysis consists of optimization concerns and suggested solutions. The statistics relating to link reliability analysis focus on PDCP losses, PDCP delays, and brief QoS class identifier (QCI) analysis, while the performance analysis consists of optimization concerns and suggested solutions.
