Single-Layer UHF RFID Tag Antenna with Multifunctional Characteristics

In this paper, a multi-function RFID tag antenna is presented. This antenna operate in the US-UHF RFID frequency bandwidth (902-928 MHz) and UHF RFID European frequency bandwidth (867-868.5MHz) by changing the chip position. T-matching element is added for each frequency band, the matching element is introducing an inductive reactance that allow achieving a good impedance matching between the antenna and the RFID chip. The read range of this antenna is about five and four meters for the European and US UHF frequency band respectively.
