An Aspect of Biometric Image Segmentation and Authentication for Digital Images

The present study proposes an improved method towards biometric image (finger print) segmentation and authentication. This study holds a functional segmentation method by captivating the idea of finger print ridge lines of human finger along with the security and authentication of this biometric information at their subsequent processing stages. The segmentation method is found to be simple and very effective with higher data compression ratio. The authentication protocol makes the segmented images more secure and easy to encrypt and decrypt the data.
