Performance Prediction for Large Area Perovskite Solar Cells

Perovskite solar cells have attracted great attention due to large efficiencies achieved over the past few years. While both small and large area perovskite solar cells are being explored, majority of the high efficiencies reported are using small area cells (~0.1cm²). Therefore, from a process optimization perspective, it is necessary to predict large area performance of these small area solar cells. In this article, we achieve the same based on compact models for small area cells. The methodology is validated by comparison with experimental data. Our results indicate that transparent conductive oxide (TCO) sheet resistance is major performance limitation for large area perovskite solar cells - which could be improved with the help of metal bus bar.
