Aging of Electrical Insulating System Based on Organic Ester

It has been published various studies dealing with usage of the natural ester as electro-insulating fluid. The main features of these fluids are known – suitable breakdown voltage, low oxidation stability, high pour point, suitable permittivity and resistivity, the low effect of water content on electrical properties, high biodegradability, high flash point and fire point etc. Also, papers dealing with the thermal and oxidative aging of these fluids have been published as well as some studies dealing with various additives (antioxidants, depressants). This paper is focused on not well described aging of natural esters with the impact of cellulose present and moisture. The results show that moisture content has a great impact on dielectric system aging. Results are to be used for setting up the limits for future industrial use of such as fluids.
