An Optimal Planning method for CCHP Systems Based on Operation Simulation

An optimal planning and design method for combined cooling, heat and power system (CCHP) was presented. The optimal planning problem was divided into two stages, the first is the optimal investment problem in which the objective was to minimize the total net present cost and the decision variables are the capacities of the devices. The second stage is the optimal operation in which the objective was to minimize the operation cost using the known device capacities. An operation simulation which are use optimal operation strategy are employed in this paper for estimating the annual operating cost, which are faster speed than solving optimal operation problem and better accuracy than CCHP simulation using FTL strategies for distributed CCHP. The proposed method was used in CCHP planning for a hospital case, and the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified.
