Highly Sensitive Microwave Microfluidic Chemical Sensors Based on Metamaterials

In this paper, we mainly introduce three kinds of microwave chemical sensors based on metamaterials. These microfluidic chemical sensors are composed of resonators based on metamaterials and microfluidic channels which are put on the location with the strongest electric field. The performances of these sensors have been validated through full-wave simulations and measurements. The results show that these sensors have the advantages of small size, high sensitivity, small amount of sample and compatibility with lab-on-a-chip platforms.
