Comparison Between Simulation and Measurement of EMI Inside a Computer Chassis Mock-Up

Resonant phenomenons in computer or server casings have not been studied yet from the point of view of information security. Couplings that can occur in casings, may have an impact on confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. Therefore, it is of high interest to have tools able to quantify these coupling. Because of the diversity of shapes and geometries of casings, a statistical approach may be considered. The proposed work has enabled to validate the ability of a commercial simulation software to produce reliable data in order to apply statistic tools in the future. This validation was performed thanks to the comparison of simulations and measurements on a computer chassis mock-up.
