Experiment Research on the Efficiency of Bionic Blade of Axial Fan

Owls are known for their silent flight and maneuverability. They have evolved many special features that differed from other birds for their flight. In this paper, we imitated serration and strip structure of owl feather for the blade of axial fan and designed a coupling bionic blade to improve the efficiency of axial fan. According to the theory of experimental optimization, a comparison experiment between the bionic fan blade and original fan blade were carried out. The influence of the bionic serration and strip structure on the efficiency of fan was studied. The results show that the bionic blade of axial fan can improve the efficiency of blade and the dimension of stripe structure and serration are main factors that affected the efficiency of fan.
