Ball Mill Grinding Circuit Based on MPC and EID

In order to achieve satisfactory performance in controlling complex process operation in the presence of heavy disturbances and large uncertainties, equivalent input disturbance (EID) approach is used to design the controller of ball mill grinding process. EID estimates an equivalent disturbance of grinding circuit on the control input channel, and it integrates this disturbance directly into the control law so as to suppress disturbances promptly and effectively. MPC has been researched and applied widely as one of the multi-variable control algorithms in grinding field. It is used to decouple in real time. In this paper, MPC-EID hybrid control is used to control the grinding circuit. Simulation results demonstrate that while controlling the ball mill grinding circuit, the MPC combined with EID possesses a better performance in disturbance rejection and rapid response. The controlled variable can run stable along the set value.
