An experimental investigation into the thermal performance of sphere balloon

An experimental investigation into the thermal performance of the sphere balloon were conducted and thermal model were validated. Solar radiation and radiative properties of the balloon envelope may exert great influence on the balloon thermal performance, an additional 135 W/m
²
solar radiation can enhance the temperature of the balloon up to about 5 K, if the absorptivity /emissivity ratio increase 0.157, in the same solar radiation condition, the balloon temperature will increase about 5 K. The research method, thermal performance model and quantitative results of this paper will be help ful in the scientific balloon and airship control law design and mission planning.
