High Speed Train Modeling Based on Traction Motor Model

The dynamic model of the High-Speed Train (HST) is the basis of designing automatic operation control law for train. This paper take the stator voltage of traction motor as control variable, describes the dynamic process of the traction force (and braking force) generation, and establishes a dynamic model of HST. Firstly, according to observed stator flux by a full-order flux observer and measured stator current, the electromagnetic torque of traction motor is gotten. Then the traction force (and braking force) of HST is obtained based on electromagnetic torque, the running resistance force of each car and the nonlinear properties of elastic coupling coefficient in coupling force between two adjacent cars are analyzed, therefore, a nonlinear multi-point model based on motor model (NMPM-MM) is derived and it is discretized next. Finally numerical simulation is conducted to verify the validity and accuracy of the proposed model using Matlab.
