Static Economic Dispatch Incorporating Renewable Energy Resources and FACTS Devices

Integration of Renewable Energy resources and FACTS devices with the grid helps in reducing operating cost and power loss. In this paper a probabilistic technique for incorporating solar and wind energy resources is utilized which gives the futuristic output of these sources. Further, Static Economic Dispatch is implemented on a South Indian 86 bus system which schedules the thermal generators while minimizing the operating cost. Static Economic Dispatch is carried out for the case studies before and after incorporating FACTS devices using Dragonfly algorithm and the results are compared.
