Brain Tumor Segmentation Techniques in MRI images-An Analysis

Segmentation of complex images like that of medical background is very important for clinical research and diagnosis, and hence for treatment leading to a requirement for robust methods. Accurate measurements in brain tumor diagnosis is hard for there are diverse shapes, sizes and appearances of tumors. Tumors can grow suddenly and bluntly causing defects in surrounding tissues also, which gives an abnormal edge for healthy tissues as well. This paper presents major segmentation techniques for Tumor in brain MRI images. Preprocessing is inevitable step, artefacts otherwise lead to wrong diagnosis and mistreatment of the medical condition.
