Comparative Study of a Solar Desalination System Combined with a Parabolic Trough

The present paper deals with the thermal performance of the solar desalination system coupled with a parabolic trough through a comparative study between experimental and numerical simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics. This numerical resolution based on the finite element method to solve the energy balance equations of different elements of the solar still integrated with heat exchanger in the bottom of the basin has been firstly validated using experimental data, in order to be used in the present study. The results show that the numerical resolution match well with the results of experimental system.
