Research on Coordination of Urbanization and Driving Forces of Urban Agglomeration in China Based on Nighttime Light Data

With the rapid development of urbanization in China.it is of great significance to achieve the healthy development of urbanization through studying the spatial-temporal characteristics and driving mechanism of coordinated urbanization development. Based on nighttime lighting data, this paper extract urban area of 334 cities in China from 1996 to 2016, and built land-population-economic coordination model by constructed a coupling coordination degree model. The results show that: (1) The land, population, and economic urbanization levels all show a continuous upward trend with time. The fastest growing one is the urbanization of land, with an annual growth rate of 14.2%. (2) The degree of coordination of urbanization in China is gradually increasing as time evolves. After 2010, the urbanization of China has got rid of disorder stage.(3) The regional differences of coordination level are significant and the coordination degree of coastal regions are far above the inland regions(4) Chinese urban agglomerations played a positive role in promoting the development of urbanization coordination. The development of urbanization coordination presented a `core-periphery' trend, that is, the central city of urban agglomerations first reached a state of coordination, and then led the surrounding cities to realize the entire city.
