A High Gain Fabry Perot Resonator Antenna (FPRA)

A high gain Fabry Perot Resonator Antenna (FPRA) configuration with a E shaped patch radiator is presented. The E shaped patch radiator is etched on Perfect Dielectric Substrate (PDS) air with a Perfect Electrical Conductor (PEC) ground plane. The high gain is realized by employing a Partially Reflective Surface (PRS) structure to achieve an unchangeable reflection phase with a source antenna to excite the 5x3 array PRS square ring cells. The proposed Fabry Perot Resonator (FPR) antenna is designed to operate at 1.8GHz, simulated and results show that the antenna has -10dB impedance bandwidth of about 10% operating in the frequency range of 1.74GHz - 1.92GHz. The gain of the antenna has around 12.5dB over the band.
