Prof. Wolfgang-Martin Boerner (1937-2018) [In Memoriam]

Dear Colleagues of the International Remote Sensing Community: On 25 May 2018, Prof. Wolfgang-Martin Boerner, a Distinguished Senior Professor Emeritus of the University of Illinois at Chicago, an IEEE Life Fellow, and a most esteemed member of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), passed away. On behalf of the GRSS, I would like to express our deepest sympathy to his family and, at the same time, our sincere gratitude and appreciation for Prof. Boerner's outstanding achievements and extraordinary contributions to radar remote sensing.
