A New Three Phase Six Level Efficient Multilevel Inverter with Reduced Number of Components

The conventional multilevel inverters (MLI) are basically categorized into three, diode clamped MLI, flying capacitor MLI and cascaded H bridge type MLI. When the number of level increases the number of components also increases. Due to this it can provides a more switching losses and less accuracy. And also it can require more drivers for turn ON the switches, also difficulties in pulse width modulation. In this paper a new configuration of a three phase six level efficient multilevel inverter is introduced. The proposed inverter has 18 switches, 12 diodes and 3 dc sources are used. The efficiency of the inverter will be analysed. The SPWM control method is selected as the control and the THD of the proposed system is analyzed by simulating in MATLAB/SIMULINK under different levels.
