Design Issues of Energy-Efficient Access Methods for Cellular IoT Networks

In this paper, we review the current developments in cellular IoT networks and focus on the performance of LoRa. We discuss the main design choices for possible enhancement of LoRa and the possibility of its integration within 5G MTC that need to support scalable and energy-efficient access. The paper is oriented towards an open discussion of possible improvements to such access methods.
