Compact Fixed-Point Filter Implementation

The main difficulty in IIR-filter hardware implementation using fixed-point arithmetic is an accurate continuous to discrete model conversion. We propose an alternative approach to IIR-filters fixed-point implementation based on adaptive discrete operator selection (z-operator or δ- operator) and filter parameters optimization. This approach provides significant reduction of utilized logic elements for the given level of implementation accuracy.
