Abstract:
In present era, the fastest growing resource of renewable energy is wind energy. In spite of that wind energy is cheapest source of electrical energy, but it has some power qualities issues like harmonics, voltage sag, swell, voltage unbalanced etcetera, when it is in operation with load. In this paper, the controlling of grid connected doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) with series dynamic voltage restorer (SDVR) under unbalanced voltage conditions is analyzed by SRF and PWM control technique. SDVR is most efficient, emphatic, simple control, fast response and low-cost custom power devices to mitigate the unbalance condition of voltage. Three phase a-b-c fault present in the line voltage can be compensated using SDVR circuit. It also compensates the three-phase fault through the constant frequency based hysteresis controller and improves the compensating output voltage at load point as compared to SRF method. Harmonics of the load point (THD) is also below the IEEE standard. By improving the unbalance condition of voltage which arises in the grid the power quality have been improved through the MATLAB/Simulink software.
