Design of Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) BPF using Circular Ring, Split Ring and Inductive Posts

Design of Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) Band-pass Filter using circular rings, slotted rings and inductive posts are presented in this paper. These structures are analyzed separately to formulate their effects on creating higher cut-off within the microwave Ku bands. Significant isolation is achieved by using array of split ring structures embedded with reflection cancelling inductive vias. Major filter parameters of all configurations are studied and presented with comparative analysis. Maximum and minimum Insertion Loss of 1. SdB and O.4dB respectively has been achieved. Return loss and isolation > 10dB is also attained by the proposed technique.
