Determining the Coefficients of the Wedge Storage Solar Collector Based on Fuzzy Logic

The wedge storage collector is a new proposed tank that has a special shape to collect sunlight in proper way. The cutting angle for the conventional tank (cubic or cylindrical) varied according to the region of building and the incident angle of the radiation. In this paper fuzzy logic (FL) is proposed to control the cutting angle and total tank required for a given place as well as the conventional water fresh tools. Three input were determined for the FL: users in the building, temperature and the sunlight intensity; which are varied from place to other and must be carefully fixed. The input variables values transferred to linguistics form for better work in FL; this process called fuzzification. The main parameters to control in the wedge storage collector are the cutting angle and size of tank; these two things will be the output for the FL with range of (10 ° -85 °) for the cutting angle, and (500-10000 liters) for tank size. The system has been validate and tested by a set of input with random values and monitor the output response at system end, when the users are about 20, the temperature is 30°C and the intensity is 450 W/m

, the output were 3560 liters for tank size and 47.7° for the cutting angle. The proposed system control is simple to monitor and smooth transition in the output that leads to full available values coverage parameters determination.
